Hardisty B Terminal
The Hardisty Terminal was constructed in complex terrain that required Voice to terrace and rough grade the project site out of the side of a large coulee. The tank lot area was constructed above the future manifold system, which required the construction of a large MSE retaining wall to stabilize the tank lot area.
Voice’s scope included:
- Clearing & Grubbing
- Topsoil Stripping
- Cut to Fill
- Foundations for 3 x 450,000 barrel tanks
- 450m long x 8m high MSE Retaining Wall
- Storm Water Pond Construction
- Process piping
- Heat tracing
- Duct Bank Installation
- Site Access Roads
- Wetland Protection and Erosion Control System
- Stockpile Remediation
The existing coulee was in a region where Aboriginal Traditional Knowledge Sites were located. Voice worked with our client to preserve and protect areas around these features so that future archeological studies could be performed. The Hardisty region is also an area where large ground water inflows are encountered as it travels towards the Battle River. We were required to divert ground water inflows to allow pond construction utilizing pumps and a sub-drain system.
